There is nothing quite like a Pokemon Battle! Two trainers and their Pokemon battle it out to prove who has the stronger Pokemon. While it isn’t for everyone, some trainers live for the thrill of battling. In Adventures you have the option of playing against other members, route trainers, or the Echo League!

.: BATTLING GUIDELINES :.

  • Your Pokemon must be level 15 in order to participate in a battle.
  • You must purchase a Battle Token from the Pokemart in order to battle Members or Gyms.
  • You must have permission from another member in order to initiate a battle. If one member does not consent to a battle, and you initiate a battle anyway, it will be forfeit ending the initiating trainer's streak.
  • As soon as you are ready, you may battle the Echo League! In order to obtain mega evolutions you must defeat gyms 1 - 5. Beating Gym 5 gives you a Mega Ring
  • You may only battle other trainers or Gyms with pokemon in the same tier, more information on this below.
  • When you use Mega Evolved pokemon they get a +10 point bonus at the end of their score.
  • You can only use one Mega Evolved pokemon per battle!
  • Pokemon/move typing does not come into play when rolling battles! So feel free to use whichever 'mon you want!

.: BATTLE TIERS :.

When battling in Adventures, a tier system is in place to ensure an even chance for both players. Remember, you can only use Pokemon that are in the same Tier as each other to Battle.

  • Rookie Tier: 15-30
  • Bronze Tier: 31-45
  • Silver Tier: 46-60
  • Gold Tier: 61-75
  • Platinum Tier: 76-90
  • Diamond Tier: 91-100

Level Cap: If your Pokemon is above the level of a certain tier and you wish to battle someone in a lower tier, your Pokemon's level will be counted as the max of that tier. For example, if you wanted to have a Rookie Tier battle but your Pokemon is level 45, your Pokemon will be brought down to level 30 for the battle. This also applies to gym battles.

When battling Route Trainers, the route pokemon's level are in the same tier as yours, but the EVs are the same! This can lead to some real spicy battles when you have a bit of a level difference.

.: BATTLE SYSTEM :.

When battling in Adventures, a tier system is in place to ensure an even chance for both players. Remember, you can only use Pokemon that are in the same Tier as each other to Battles.

  • To battle, fill out the entry form on one of the battle journals. Remember, if you are battling with another player, make sure they consented first!
  • Once posted, a moderator will comment letting you know the battle has begun!
    • From there, you have two weeks to complete the prompt or the battle is forfeit. A mod will tell you the cut off date in their reply.
    • The entry must be at least fullbody and colored or for lit pieces 500 words, but the more levels earned by the pokemon from the submission the better your chance of winning!
      • In battles, we call this EVs! 1 level earned = 1 EV applied.
      • EVs cap at 20, to keep battles fair. But you can still earn as many levels as you like!
      • You must include all pokemon participating in the battle (yours and your opponent's.)
  • Gym Battles must be a minimum of 1v1, but you can also do double battles with two of your own pokemon or by collaborating with another member!
    • This doesn't effect chances of winning, but if you collaborate with another member both of you will earn prizes and a gym badge if you win!
    • Prizes in Gym and Elite Four battles are not effected by streak, but instead by the Gym's tier.
    • Gym Battles do not effect your Streak. Don't fret if you lose to a tough one!
  • Trainer Battles must be a minimum of 1v1 (2 Members, 1 pokemon each), but we also allow double battles (2 Members, 2 Pokemon each), as well as multi battles with 3-4 members!
    • Any victor will earn prizes in this case, and also increase their battle streak which will be talked about below!
    • In multi battles, there must be a total of 4 pokemon participating and a minimum of three members. This means you can have 1v2, 2v1, or 2v2 style battles!
      • Though be aware, in multibattles the score is averaged based on number of trainers on your team. So if you're working with someone be sure to pull your weight!
      • Prizes in two trainer doubles (2v1) and multi battles are determined by the lowest team member's streak.
  • Route Trainers Battles must be a minimum of 1v1, but you can also do double battles with two of your own pokemon or by collaborating with another member!
    • When battling Route Trainers, the route pokemon's level are in the same tier as yours, but the EVs are the same.
    • This doesn't effect chances of winning, but if you collaborate with another member both of you will earn prizes if you win!
    • Prizes in two trainer doubles (2v1) and multi battles are determined by the lowest team member's streak.
  • To receive your results all battle partners must submit and have their battles approved to the group, then link them to the mod comment. From there the mod will roll your results!
    • If one or more battler partner fails to turn in their battle piece by the due date, the battle is forfeit and the apposing team is victorious. For member and Route Trainer battles this will break the win streak of whoever forfeits.
      • If either side of the battle forfeits, no item prize is won.
      • The participants who submit their pieces before the due date do not break their streak.
    • Results are rolled based on your pokemon's level and their EVs for the piece. Based on these values, a random number is calculated. If this number is higher than your opponent, you win the round. There are three rounds calculated per battle, if you win at least 2/3 of these you win the battle!
      • When you use a Mega-Evolved pokemon, you get a +10 level boost applied! This does not count towards your tier level, and only one Mega-Evolved pokemon is allowed per battle or in the case of multi battles, per team.
      • In double or multi battles, each Team/Side's levels and EVs are averaged into one value.
      • A mod will reply to your comment with a summary of the results, as well as announce the victor and items earned!

.: BATTLE STREAKS :.

In adventures, the more battles you win in a row the better the prizes received! This is called your Streak.
  • The streak mainly effects Trainer and Route Battles, Gym Battles have their own prize system!

Each battle won increases your win streak. The higher the Streak the higher the rarity of the items you'll receive as a prize. If the streak is broke it resets to 0.

A Streak can be broken by:
  • Losing a Member, Multi, or Route Trainer Battle
  • Forfeiting a Member or Route Trainer battle of any kind
  • Failing to finish a Member or Route Trainer battle before its due date
A Streak cannot be broken by:
  • Losing/Winning/Forfeiting a Gym Battle
  • Winning a battle because an opponent forfeit or failed to complete their piece
  • Losing a battle because a teammate forfeit or failed to complete their piece

Apologies, I just wanted to confirm: for member-owned gyms, are those treated just like the Member v NPC Gym battles (aka: a form is filled out and posted on that journal and group admins determine the result)? Or does the Gym Owner calculate the outcome?
